There's great news for local Weber State fans — KJZZ-Ch. 14 will telecast most of the Wildcats' home football and basketball games.

That's four football games and 14 men's basketball games for the 2015-16 school year, the first in a multi-year agreement.

Weber athletic director Jerry Bovee issued this statement: "This partnership with KJZZ TV will bring a dramatic increase in exposure to our athletic programs and to Weber State University. Wildcat athletics can now be seen across the state of Utah and beyond with a high-quality HD TV production."

Can't disagree with any of that ... although this is mostly a Utah thing. KJZZ's signal is carried across the state and in parts of Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Arizona and Colorado. Fans in other parts of the country can continue to watch games online at WatchBigSky.org.

This is a great thing for WSU fans, and KJZZ deserves a big pat on the back for stepping up and making this commitment.

• Sept. 19 vs. Sacramento State

• Oct. 17 vs. North Dakota

• Nov. 7 vs. UC Davis
