I am not a fan of CBS' "The Briefcase," but there are people who like it less than I do.

Like the group sponsoring an Care2 online petition to get the show canceled. Here's how tghey see it:

"The new CBS show THE BRIEFCASE mocks the impoverished with what some people have called 'altruism porn.'

"On May 27, CBS aired the first episode of The Briefcase, which spotlights American families struggling with financial hardship or debt. They are suddenly given $101,000 and a choice: They can keep the money or give some or all of it to another needy family.

"This show is cruel and exploits the suffering of real families. Consider that CBS' CEO makes $54 million a year. If CBS really wants to spotlight the hardships of America's poor, it should donate outright, not exploit their suffering.

"Don't let CBS exploit the poor and profit from this! Tell them that this is not acceptable. Sign the petition to ask CBS to pull 'The Briefcase' from the air!"
