Bear Grylls hosts "The Island" (9 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5), a new reality series about 14 men isolated on a deserted island with only the clothes on their backs, minimal survival tools and cameras.

The show is filmed by the men themselves, and it's not a competition — there are no eliminations and no prizes. It's about survival.
