Tonight's episode of "Fresh Off the Boat" (7 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4) is laugh-out-loud funny. The parents learn they have to volunteer at the school — Louis ends up coaching the basketball team, while Jessica has to help with the school play. Which she thinks is a waste of time.

My favorite moment comes when Jessica learns that her two younger sons are in the school play.

"Why?" she says, "You're not going to become actors. You think they're going to put two Chinese boys on TV? Maybe if there's a nerdy friend or a magical thing where someone wanders into a Chinatown."
