A Utahn made it through the blind auditions on Monday's episode of "The Voice," although she barely made it onto the episode of the hit NBC singing competition.

Noelle Bybee got 18 seconds of airtime — including five seconds of her singing Vampire Weekend's "Unbelievers," and seven seconds of judge Pharrell Williams explaining why he chose her.

"I kept saying to myself — soft voice, beautiful, lots of control," he said. "And I was, like, this girl can't go home."

With the exception of a her name being mentioned at the end of the episode, that was it.

Yes, Bybee was part of a montage with two other singers — a brief clip and not an extended segment of the show. Most who make it through the blind auditions, and even some who do not, are introduced to the viewers, who get to see his/her entire performance and hear how all the judges react.

There was scant information about Bybee from NBC on Monday night. She's a high school student; her hometown is Ogden … and that was about it.

It's no small accomplishment to make it onto one of the judge's teams. But it's worth remembering that, not only is Bybee one of 48 singers who have or will make it this far, but it's generally not a good sign when a contestant is montaged on "The Voice."
