TMZ is reporting that "Sister Wives" husband Kody Brown has legally divorced Wife No. 1 in order to legally marry Wife No. 4.

The former Utahns, who moved to Nevada shortly after their TLC reality show made them the subject of a legal investigation by Utah County authorities, are all still one big, supposedly happy family, however. But you can only have one legal wife at a time, so Kody and Meri — married in 1990 — divorced last fall so that Kody could marry Robyn. And TMZ reports that was so that Robyn's children from a previous plural marriage would have "access to insurance and other benefits."

No word on whether this marriage sleight-of-hand will be featured in an upcoming episode of "Sister Wives."
