A warlock who was involved in the Salem witch trials escapes purgatory in "Sleepy Hollow" (8 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13).

If you've think you've noticed a change in this show over the past three episodes, you're right. Fox executives were not happy with what they saw as the show becoming overly serialized, and the ratings have suffered in Season 2. So we're getting more sort of monster-of-the-week episodes.

Whether there will be a Season 3 of "Sleepy Hollow" remains to be seen.
