Tonight is the live episode of Hot In Cleveland, which TV Land has advertised about a billion times now.
William Shatner, Shirley Jones, Danny Pudi and Brian Baumgartner will join Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendy Malick. And the big question is - who will flub their lines or fall down or something?
Of course, if you're a cable subscriber here in Utah, you won't be seeing this episode live. The state's biggest cable outlet, Comcast, gives us the West Coast feed of this channel (along with many others), meaning it doesn't air until 11 p.m.
That's really stupid.
If you have DirecTV or Dish, you can see the "Hot In Cleveland" live episode li...

Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy is the center of soccer in the United States tonight. The U.S. Men's National Team takes on Honduras in a qualifier for next year's World Cup.
The U.S. is in first place in their group, and a win tonight would all-but guarantee them a trip to Brazil in 2014.
The game will air nationally on ESPN at 7 p.m.; there's a pregame show at 6:30 p.m.

Miss Utah USA, Marissa Powell, tried to redeem herself on “The Today Show” on Tuesday morning - and she did a pretty good job.

Powell made headlines with her halting, nonsensical response to a question about pay inequity for women.

“I think we can relate this back to education and how we are continuing to try to strive to figure out how to create jobs right now,’’ she said on Sunday night. “That’s the biggest problem and I think, especially the men are, um, seen as the leaders of this and so we need to try to figure out how to create education better so that we can solve this problem.”

HBO's vampire series is a bloody mess - literally. True Blood (Sunday, 10 p.m., HBO) is swimming in faux plasma. And the convoluted plotlines have traveled far from Charlaine Harris' books. As Season 6 begins, Bill is resurrected; Sookie and Jason's fairy grandpa shows up; and vampires and humans are at each other's throats. If you aren't already a fan, you'll be totally lost.

I have to admit that I haven't followed the NBA Finals all that closely. But I did gasp when I saw the score of Game 3 - a 113-77 win by the Spurs.

Twisted (10 p.m.) is the ABC Family Channel's attempt to build on the success of "Pretty Little Liars" by launching another series about ridiculously attractive teenagers caught up in a murder.
Avan Jogia stars as Danny Desai, a 16-year-old who returns to his hometown five years after he went away for murdering his aunt. (And we're not sure what exactly happened there - it's a Big Secret that Danny refuses to tell.)

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Nigel Lythgoe has been ousted as the show runner/executive producer of "American Idol."
What with the ratings dive the show has taken in the past couple of years, it was bound to happen.
It is as least a big surprising that Fox and FreemantleMedia North America, which produces the show, has gone to Sweden to find a replacement.
Lythgoe is clearly a scapegoat here. He was saddled with terrible judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson. "Idol" is no longer as distinctive, what with the advent of "The Voice" and "X Factor." And shows tend to fade as they age.
Lythgoe, however, was unable reverse or even slow the decline.

Two of the bigger surprises about CBS' just-announced fall schedule were a pair of shows that aren't on it.

The network passed on "NCIS Red," a spinoff of "NCIS: Los Angeles." And on "Beverly Hills Cop," a sequel of sorts to the 1984 movie.

We don't generally see failed pilots, so we have to take CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler's word for it when she says, "Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't." And, given CBS' success, you have to think Tassler knows what she's talking about.

ABC has one of the most buzzed-about new shows on TV on its fall schedule - Joss Whedon's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." - and ABC has programmed it opposite the No. 1 show on TV.
ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee, however, says he's not worried about sending the show, a spinoff of sorts from the blockbuster movie "The Avengers," up against "NCIS."
"We think it's going to recruit a whole new audience," he said. "And we don't necessarily think that audience is the same as 'NCIS.'"
It's not the only risk Lee is taking. His new Tuesday lineup is made up of three new shows - a gamble few programmers take. He's taking a page out of the "So You Th...

When the original "Beverly Hills, 90210" signed off almost exactly 13 years ago, it was kind of a big deal in TV terms.
The show helped put the fledgling Fox network on the map. It ran for 10 seasons and 194 episodes. It was, for a time, a pop-culture icon.
The sequel series 90210 signs off tonight - and it is not a big deal. The only splash this series on The CW made was when original cast members showed up.
Yeah, it's been on for five years and 114 episodes, but most Americans have never seen it. Or even heard of it.
Nonetheless, it wraps things up with an hourlong retrospective (7 p.m., Ch. 30), followed by the final episode (8 p.m., Ch. 30).

As she announces her retirement, Barbara Walters is being hailed as some sort of broadcast journalism icon.
She's certainly broken ground. First as the co-host of "The Today Show"; then as the first female co-anchor of an evening newscast (on ABC); then as the co-anchor of ABC's first successful prime-time newsmagazine ("20/20"); finally as the producers and sometimes panelist on "The View."
Walters has interviewed a variety of important newsmakers - up to and including heads of state. She's broken news.
And she deserves a lot of credit not just for doing that, but for breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry while she did it.
But Walters' legacy is a complicated one. S...

NBC couldn't cancel everything on its schedule, although it sure seemed like the network was trying.
Well, everything but "The Voice."
Conventional wisdom is that you can't make too many changes to your fall schedule and add too many shows because you can't possibly promote more than a handful effectively.
And NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt added six new shows, which isn't a huge number. But he also moved seven returning series to new nights and/or times, leaving only Sundays NFL night untouched.
That's a whole lot of changes. And a whole lot of shows were canceled - a list that includes "Animal Practice," "Deception," "Do No Harm," "Go On," "Guys with Kids,"...

Fox is making a whole bunch of changes for the upcoming television season - five new comedies, four new dramas, a couple of "event" series; a sort-of new reality/competition series and an animated show.
Seth MacFarlane ("Family Guy") brings his first live-action sitcom, "Dads," to the network; Andy Samberg ("Saturday Night Live") stars in the sitcom "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"; J.J. Abrams has a new action/drama, "Almost Human"; and the legend of "Sleepy Hollow" is updated.
M. Night Shyamalan, whose movie career has pretty much tanked in recent years, is coming to television with one of those "event series" - Matt Dillon will star in "Wayward Pines," a limite...

SPOILER ALERT!!! If you don’t want to know who won “Survivor: Caramoan — Fans vs. Favorites,” STOP READING NOW!!!

Maybe Dawn Meehan never had a chance to win “Survivor.” The BYU English professor who lives in South Jordan certainly had zero chance when she went up against John Cochran in Sunday’s season finale, when he sailed to victory and the million-dollar prize.

Cochran won the final immunity challenge and got to determine which two competitors he would take to the final tribal council. The goal is to take the two others you have the best chance of beating, and he chose co...
