Residents on the east side of Salt Lake City say police officers are too concentrated on the west side. Along with several members of the City Council, they're calling to hire 25 to 30 more officers to protect their neighborhoods and respond more quickly to calls for help. But new statistics released by the police department show crime in the city is actually down.
