The Utah Effect - the Tribune's series of stories highlighting statistics that help explain the Beehive state - has revealed Utah as a state with a high number of alcohol-related deaths, a place where men outnumber women and one of the quietest states in the nation.

On Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., demographer Pam Perlich and Tribune reporter Matt Canham joins Jennifer Napier-Pearce to talk about how numbers can validate - or upend - conventional wisdom and what the data tells us about ourselves.
