In the mad scramble before the 2017 Sundance Festival begins on Thursday (geez Louise, that's tomorrow!), several new trailers for festival titles have been released — so we're serving up an extra "Trailer of the Day."

From Northern Ireland comes the crime thriller "Bad Day for the Cut" centers on Donal (Nigel O'Neill), a middle-aged farmer who still lives with his mother. One night, Mum is killed in her home — which sets Donal on a bloody trail for revenge that shows him horrible things he never knew about his mother.

Directed by Chris Baugh, "Bad Day for the Cut" screens in the festival's Midnight section. It screens at the following times and venues:

• Sunday, Jan. 22, 11:45 p.m., Egyptian Theatre, Park City.

• Monday, Jan. 23, 9:30 p.m., Redstone Cinema 1, Park City.

• Wednesday, Jan. 25, 11:30 p.m., Prospector Square Theatre, Park City.

• Saturday, Jan. 28, 11:59 p.m., Broadway Centre Cinema 6, Salt Lake City.

The 2017 Sundance Film Festival runs Jan. 19-29 in Park City and at venues in Salt Lake City and the Sundance resort in Provo Canyon.
