Some of the more interesting moments at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival — the panel discussions where filmmakers talk about their work — can be viewed in your pajamas.

The festival Tuesday announced its slate of panel discussions, some of which will be streamed live on the Sundance website.

Here is a rundown of events (all times are Mountain Time):

Day One Press Conference • Thursday, Jan. 19, 1 p.m., Egyptian Theatre, streaming live • Robert Redford, founder and president of the Sundance Institute, will be at the center of two conversations. The first is with filmmakers Sydney Freeland ("Deidra & Laney Rob a Train") and David Lowery ("A Ghost Story"), both Institute-supported artists with films in the festival. The second will include Keri Putnam, the Institute's executive director, and festival director John Cooper, and take questions from the press. John Horn, of KPCC's "The Frame," will moderate both talks.

Cinema Cafe: Jon Hamm and Sam Elliott • Saturday, Jan. 21, 11:30 a.m., Filmmakers Lodge, streaming live • Hamm ("Marjorie Prime") and Elliott ("The Hero") will talk.

Post-Truth and Consequences • Saturday, Jan. 21, 2:30 p.m., Filmmakers Lodge, streaming live • NPR media reporter David Folkenflik moderates this discussion of journalism, and whether it can speak across the divide of a post-truth society. On the panel are documentary filmmakers Peter Nicks ("The Force") and Laura Poitras ("Project X"), and New York Times reporter James Risen.

A Celebration of Music and Film • Saturday, Jan. 21, Festival BaseCamp, 7 to 10 p.m. • An evening of music and readings celebrating free speech, diverse voices and the power of art — centered on the theme, inspired by Leonard Cohen's lyrics, "There is a Crack in Everything / That's How the Light Gets In." The line-up includes musical performances by Common, Andra Day, Hunter Hayes, Jim James (of My Morning Jacket) and Rotana Tarazbouni, and spoken-word performances by Gael Garcia Bernal, Ava DuVernay, Jenny Slate, Rory Kennedy and Nick Offerman.

Power of Story: The New Climate • Sunday, Jan. 22, 2:30 p.m., Egyptian Theatre, streaming live • Kicking off the Institute's new initiative, to foster conversation about global climate change in a political atmosphere of denial, this panel will feature an array of experts and advocates. The panel includes former Vice President Al Gore, entrepreneur/philanthropist Jeff Skoll, scientist and broadcaster Dr. David Suzuki, former President of the Maldives Momaned Nasheed, and filmmaker Heather Rae. Moderated by "Democracy Now!" host Amy Goodman.

Cinema Cafe: Kumail Nanjiani and John Cho • Monday, Jan. 23, 11:30 a.m., Filmmakers Lodge, streaming live • Nanjiani ("The Big Sick") and Cho ("Columbus") will talk.

Women in Science • Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2 p.m., Filmmakers Lodge, streaming live • This panel asks why there are so few female scientists, both in the labs and in movies. The panel is moderated by NPR's Nell Greenfieldboyce, and includes cognitive neuroscientist Heather Berlin ("Science Goes to the Movies"), systems engineer Tracy Drain of NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab, screenwriter Nicole Perlman ("Guardians of the Galaxy") and filmmaker Jennifer Phang ("Advantageous").

Power of Story: Art of Episodic Writing • Thursday, Jan. 26, 2:30 p.m., Festival BaseCamp, streaming live • Filmmakers talk about how to find audiences in changing times, no longer restricted by traditional production or distribution platforms. The panel is moderated by Sundance Institute founding lab director Michelle Satter, and includes filmmakers Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood ("Shots Fired"), Larry Karaszewski ("The People vs. O.J. Simpson"), Marti Noxon ("To the Bone," "The Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce"), Issa Rae ("Insecure") and Jill Soloway ("Transparent," "I Love Dick"). Part of the Art of Film Weekend.

Creative Tensions: Empathy • Friday, Jan. 27, 10 a.m., The Shop (1157 Woodside), streaming live • Not the average panel, this conversation is expressed through movement, as participants reveal their stance on issues by where they stand in the room. Presented by the Sundance Institute Theatre Program, in partnership with IDEO. Part of the Art of Film Weekend.

Producers Confidential • Friday, Jan. 27, 2 p.m., Filmmakers Lodge • Producers talk about their role as artists, above their role as facilitators, fund raisers and organizers. The Sundance Institute's Anne Lai moderates the panel, which features producers Alix Madigan-Yorkin ("L.A. Times") and Joslyn Barnes ("Strong Island"). Part of the Art of Film Weekend.

Vision Builders: The Art of Production Design • Saturday, Jan. 28, 2 p.m., Filmmakers Lodge • Production designers David Gropman ("Fences"), Jeannine Oppewall ("L.A.
