A horrendous act of domestic terrorism, its roots and its aftermath are examined in the film promoted in today's "Trailer of the Day" for the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

Barak Goodman's "Oklahoma City" looks at the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. — killing 163 people and destroying a third of the building.

Goodman talks to first responders, survivors and families of the victims of the bombing. He also looks into the manhunt that led to the arrest and conviction of the bombers, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. And he follows the thread of the bombers' motivation, after deadly encounters involving federal law enforcement in Waco and Ruby Ridge.

"Oklahoma City" will have its world premiere in the Documentary Premieres section of the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, and will air on PBS' "American Experience" series in February. It screens at Sundance at the following times and venues:

• Saturday, Jan. 21, 11:30 a.m., The MARC, Park City.

• Sunday, Jan 22, 5:30 p.m., Prospector Square Theatre, Park City.

• Tuesday, Jan. 24, 9 p.m., Tower Theatre, Salt Lake City.

• Saturday, Jan. 28, 9:15 p.m., Holiday Village Cinema 2, Park City.

The 2017 Sundance Film Festival runs Jan. 19-29 in Park City and at venues in Salt Lake City and the Sundance resort in Provo Canyon.
