A vegetetarian gets a taste for something meatier in the movie teased in today's "Trailer of the Day" for the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

In writer-director Julia Ducournau's feature debut "Raw," Justine (Garance Mariller) is a 16-year-old vegetarian just enrolled in veterinary school. As the attached clip shows, the school puts the first-year students through a hazing ritual that involves eating raw rabbit liver. Justine reluctantly takes part, and soon discovers she has a taste for meat — including human flesh.

The gruesome horror movie drew strong reviews at Cannes and Toronto — and reportedly so affected some audience members at Toronto that ambulances were called.

"Raw" will screen in the Spotlight section of the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. It screens at the following times and venues:

• Friday, Jan. 20, 9 p.m., Broadway Centre Cinema 6, Salt Lake City.

• Sunday, Jan. 22, 8:30 p.m., The MARC, Park City.

• Tuesday, Jan. 24, 11:30 p.m., Prospector Square Theatre, Park City.

The 2017 Sundance Film Festival runs Jan. 19-29 in Park City and at venues in Salt Lake City and the Sundance resort in Provo Canyon.
