Today's Sundance "trailer of the day" teases a story happening right here in Salt Lake City.

The documentary "In Football We Trust" follows four teens in Salt Lake City's Pacific Islander community who seek an escape — from poverty, gang involvement or family pressures — through playing football. The four each play on high school teams, but their goal is college and ultimately the NFL.

Director Tony Vainuku and producer/co-director Erika Cohn are from Salt Lake City, so they know the territory. Vainuku is of Tongan descent, and played linebacker for a couple years at Highland High School.

"In Football We Trust" will debut in the Documentary Premieres section of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.
