Maybe a little reverse reverse psychology?

Ooops, I think the Tribune killed Herbert's Healthy Utah — George Pyle | The Salt Lake Tribune, Sunday

" ... We've come to be supportive, more or less, of the governor's plan to offer his particular form of health coverage to maybe 146,000 Utahns who now, through no fault of their own, lack something that the inhabitants of every civilized nation on Earth take for granted.

"Maybe that's the problem.

"Maybe our editorials should have stuck to the view that Herbert Health was an unacceptably weak plan to spend too much money on too few people.

"Maybe we should have continued to stand firm on the idea that it was wrong to cut the evil health insurance companies back in, as Healthy Utah does, and to add needless bureaucracy just to make sure no undeserving poor gained anything.

"Maybe then the many members of the Utah Legislature who can be counted upon to know the cost of everything and the value of absolutely nothing would have supported Healthy Utah just because the Kenyan socialists at the Tribune opposed it. ..."

Senators plug noses to send Healthy Utah to final vote — The Salt Lake Tribune, Monday

"The Utah Senate voted 21-8 Tuesday to send Gov. Gary Herbert's Healthy Utah plan for a final vote, which could come as early as Wednesday.

"We're just passing the buck if we don't do something," said Sen. Todd Weiler, R-Woods Cross, who voted yes.

"We're delivering health care to many of these people but we're doing it in the most expensive way possible, through emergency rooms and prisons," Weiler said.

Several of the senators indicated they may change their "yes" votes to "no's" on the final vote, but even if they do, Senate Bill 164, sponsored by Sen. Brian Shiozawa, R-Cottonwood Heights, is likely to pass the Senate.

"Shiozawa said he was surprised by the margin of support for the Medicaid expansion proposal, and said that should make a difference in the House, where Healthy Utah is floundering. ..."
