Sandy • Still toiling in offensive struggles, it seems Real Salt Lake could be fairly shorthanded in that department heading into this week-long East Coast trip. RSL coach Jeff Cassar has ruled out leading scorer Yura Movsisyan (hip flexor strain) for Sunday's match at the Philadelphia Union. Cassar also labeled Movsisyan's availability for Wednesday's match at Toronto FC "extremely questionable."

Which shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. The 28-year-old Designated Player managed to avoid injury for the first four months of the season, starting in 19 of RSL's first 21 regular-season matches. Movsisyan, who leads RSL with seven goals in 2016, has only missed one match so far this season: RSL's 2-0 loss at FC Dallas on June 25. RSL's center forward was forced out in the first half of the 1-1 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes on July 22 when the hip discomfort took its toll.

Movsisyan will, however, be traveling to the East Coast with RSL, Cassar confirmed.

"He's going to do double-day treatments with us," Cassar explained. "We're going to move him back in as much as possible, but when you're gone for seven days like this, you want to make sure he's around."

RSL's numbers for Philadelphia might be further thinned. The versatile Jordan Allen exited the MLS Homegrown Game Wednesday night in the first half with hamstring tightness. The 21-year-old was one of five RSL academy products featured in the game between MLS homegrowns and the Mexican U-20 national team.

Cassar said Allen is questionable for the match against the Union. The midfielder was scheduled for an MRI Thursday afternoon after returning from San Jose, Calif. Allen is also scheduled to meet with RSL's team physician Friday before the team boards its flight to Philadelphia. Like Movsisyan, Allen is currently scheduled to make the trip and receive treatment on his hamstring.

"I am concerned," Cassar said. "This has been a lingering issue now for quite some time. I know he's working his tail off. I know the training staff is working hard to correct it, but it is concerning. Anything that lingers and keeps you from being yourself at 100 percent bothers me."

Allen has three goals and one assist in 15 regular-season appearances this season.

"He's taken himself out of three games now [due to the hamstring injury] and we can't have that," Cassar said. "I know he doesn't want that. It doesn't do me any good when I have people in, and they have to come out, especially how short-numbered we are right now."
