Jurgen Klinsmann is gathering the troops once again for a month-long camp from January into early February. And once again, Real Salt Lake will be represented. Goalkeeper Nick Rimando and midfielder Luis Gil are part of the 28-man roster Klinsmann and the U.S. men's national team staff have assembled for weeks of training and matches from Jan. 12 through Feb. 8.

This camp is the first of 2015 for the USMNT. The group of players will spend 12 days training in Carson, Calif., before heading to Santiago, Chile, to train from Jan. 25-29 in preparation for its Jan. 28 friendly against Chile at Estadio El Teniente in Rancagua. Upon the conclusion of the first official match of the calendar year, the team will return to California where it will train ahead of the Feb. 8 friendly against Panama at the StubHub Center in Carson.

Of the 28 players called in for the camp ahead of the friendlies, 14 are uncapped players. In addition, the camp roster features 12 Olympic-age players who could be eligible to represent the U.S. at the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Brazil. Some notable missing names from this camp are World Cup veterans Omar Gonzalez, Graham Zusi, and of course, Kyle Beckerman. RSL's captain had a breakout season in 2014 with the USMNT asserting himself in the mix in the crowded midfield. The 32-year-old started all three of the group stage matches in the 2014 World Cup. He was initially called into the camp but decided it best to stay with RSL during an offseason of transition.

"Kyle Beckerman wants to focus on his club situation because there are a lot of changes in Real Salt Lake," Klinsmann said in his Q&A on ussoccer.com.

Rimando was part of the 2014 World Cup squad in Brazil and had four appearances last year in which he posted a 1-0-2 record. The 35-year-old goalkeeper has 16 career caps with the USMNT and has a 10-0-2 record with four shutouts.

Gil gets a return nod back to the USMNT after being called into the January camp last year and making his senior-team debut last February in a friendly against South Korea. The 21-year-old had a drop off in first-team minutes in 2014 starting the least amount of matches since 2011 with just 16.

According to RSL, Rimando and Gil will miss the first two portions of RSL's preseason. The duo is expected to rejoin the club for the last stage of the preseason in Tucson, Ariz., where RSL will again participate in the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup from Feb. 15 through March 1. RSL's 2015 season opener is Saturday, March 7 on the road against the Portland Timbers.
