Valley knew it had some room to maneuver entering Wednesday's Day 2 of the Class 1A boys' golf state meet.

Isaac Stout shot a 77-73—150 to earn medalist honors after taking sixth last year. Teammate Cobe Reck, the two-time reigning state champion, finished second with a 76-81—157.
