East will host football powerhouse IMG Academy in the final week of the 2017 regular season in October.

IMG Academy finished 11-0 in 2016 and widely was considered one of the top two teams nationally, alongside Bishop Gorman from Las Vegas, by virtually every major publication.

According to Scout.com, IMG Academy will send 25 players to play Division I football from its 2017 graduating class alone, including two players rated five-star prospects and 10 considered four-star recruits.

East completed a perfect 14-0 season in 2016 en route to its second consecutive Class 4A state championship. The Leopards were awarded a medium-school national championship by MaxPreps after they shattered multiple state records and defeated Pulaski Academy (Ark.) and De La Salle (Calif.).
