For the first time in state history, a local program has captured two mythical national championships after USA Today named Davis girls' soccer program as the top team in the country for the second consecutive season on Tuesday.

The Darts, who were named national champions by USA Today in 2015, finished another 20-0 campaign this season with a win against Fremont in the Class 5A state championship. They became the third team in state history to win three straight titles, and the Darts also established the state record for consecutive wins, ending the year with an active streak of 44 straight victories.

Davis finished with 112 goals in 2016, with an average of 5.6 per game, and surrendered only eight goals, 0.4 per outing. During the span of 44 games, the Darts have outscored their opponents 236-18.
