Four-star Class of 2017 defensive tackle Jay Tufele was presented his U.S. Army All-American jersey on Monday afternoon at Bingham High.

Tufele, who is the reigning Salt Lake Tribune Player of the Year and the consensus top-rated local prospect by every major recruiting outlet for his graduating class, missed the first eight weeks of the season with ligament damage in his foot.

He suffered the injury while participating in the prestigious preseason showcase "The Opening," which is reserved for the highest-recruited athletes in the nation, in July. He made his return in a win against Jordan this past Thursday.

The U.S. Army All-American Game is scheduled for Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. At the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Tufele has narrowed his list of preferred schools to USC, Ohio State, Utah, Washington, UCLA, Michigan and BYU, in no particular order.
