After routing Bingham in the Class 5A semifinals this past Friday, undefeated Lone Peak is now ranked No. 24 nationally by MaxPreps.

The Knights (13-0) are looking to duplicate their success of 2011, when they punctuated a perfect 14-0 campaign with their first and only state championship, against Region 4 foe Herriman at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Rice-Eccles Stadium in the 5A title game. Lone Peak won the first meeting with the Mustangs, 30-0.

Lone Peak's average margin of victory this season has exceeded 28 points per game, with its closest competition, reflected by the final score, being its 37-21 win against Woods Cross — a game in which it maintained a 30-point lead in the fourth quarter before garbage time.
