Time never ceases to amaze me. Where has it gone? It feels like only yesterday the opening week was about to kickoff and we were all rejoicing for having the lights of Friday nights back in our weekly regiment. Now we're in the final week of the regular season, which brings us to this sobering fact: This is the final statewide top 25 rankings. Why? Because once the postseason starts rankings are no longer relevant (many would probably argue rankings are never relevant to begin with, but I digress). Win and move on. Lose and your season is over. Everyone understands the gist.

The final invitation to the top statewide 25 party:

1. Bingham (8-1)

2. Sky View (9-0)

3. Lone Peak (9-0)

4. Davis (8-0)

5. Jordan (7-2)

6. Brighton (7-2)

7. Herriman (7-2)

8. Timpview (8-1)

9. Springville (9-0)

10. Mountain Crest (8-0)

11. East (6-2)

12. Wasatch (7-2)

13. Logan (7-2)

14. Dixie (7-2)

15. Roy (4-3)

16. Bountiful (5-4)

17. American Fork (5-4)

18. Maple Mountain (7-2)

19. Provo (7-2)

20. Highland (5-3)

21. Olympus (6-3)

22. Juan Diego (8-1)

23. South Summit (9-0)

24. Pleasant Grove (5-4)

25. Hunter (5-4)

In case you missed our power rankings, which are published every Sunday in our "Preps Plus" page, here is the shakedown for each classification:

Class 5A

1. Bingham (8-1) — Anyone questioning the legitimacy of the Miners after they thumped Jordan?

2. Sky View (9-0) — Undefeated showdown against Mountain Crest for Region 1 title is next.

3. Lone Peak (9-0) — Knights travel to hostile Herriman with the Region 4 title on the line.

4. Davis (8-0) — After sluggish start, the Darts dispatched Hunter at home to remain unbeaten.

5. Jordan (7-2) — The Beetdiggers have issues on defense, but their offense will present problems to nearly every team.

Class 4A

1. Timpview (8-1) — This clearly is not the same Timpview team of year's past, but its still winning.

2. Springville (9-0) — Wrapped up an undefeated Region 8 championship.

3. East (6-2) — Demolished archrival Highland. The Leopards are the scariest team in the classification.

4. Wasatch (7-2) — Might be the biggest surprise in the state. Wasps have shattered expectations.

5. Provo (7-2) — The Bulldogs can score points in a hurry. Tony McGeary has already changed the program in two years.

Class 3AA

1. Logan (7-2) — The Grizzlies made the long trip to St. George and embarrassed Desert Hills.

2. Dixie (6-2) — After an off-week, the Flyers close the season at home against Pine View.

3. Tooele (6-3) — Buffaloes simply wear down teams with a powerful rushing attack and solid defense.

4. Desert Hills (4-4) — The Thunder weren't at full strength against Logan. They need to get healthy quickly.

5. Hurricane (4-3) — The Tigers needed the bye week after losing big against Dixie. They finish up against Snow Canyon.

Class 3A

1. Juan Diego (8-1) — The Eagle held on to beat Canyon View, 39-38, but it showed they're vulnerable.

2. Morgan (7-2) — The Trojans solidified No. 2 ranking with drubbing against North Sanpete.

3. Juab (7-2) — Squeaked out 49-48 win against Union. The Wasps have been shaky the past two weeks.

4. Manti (5-3) — Can clinch region championship with win at home against Juab.

5. North Sanpete (5-4) — Ran into buzzsaw against Morgan, but the Hawks are still one of the better teams in the classification.

Class 2A

1. South Summit (9-0) — Clinched outright region championship against North Summit and extended winning streak to 19 games.

2. Beaver (8-1) — The Beavers can win the state championship. This team is really good.

3. North Summit (6-3) — Defense can compete with anybody, but offense is lagging.

4. San Juan (6-3) — The Broncos closed the regular season on a high note with big win against Enterprise.

5. Summit Academy (5-4) — The Bears offense is lethal, but they need support from the defense if they expect to progress in the postseason.

Class 1A

1. Diamond Ranch (7-0) — No question the Diamondbacks are the best in the class after dominating victory against Kanab.

2. Duchesne (6-2) — The Eagles have won five straight.

3. Kanab (6-3) — The Cowboys are solid, but had no answer against Diamond Ranch.

4. Rich (3-5) — Best performance of the season in a blowout against Altamont.

5. Monticello (5-4) — The Buckaroos are heating up at an opportunistic time.
