The sixth week provides only one new face in The Tribune's statewide top 25 rankings: Welcome to the party, Logan. The Grizzlies climbed back into respectability with two straight wins after head-scratching blowout losses against Mountain Crest and Sky View, which, to Logan's credit, both of those teams have proven to be formidable. Logan replaces Provo, which lost to Timpview for the 26th consecutive time on the field (Thunderbirds forfeited one win against the Bulldogs for the use of ineligible players).

Davis, Springville, Mountain Crest and Herriman were four of a total of 14 programs that crept up the poll by one spot. Fremont suffered the biggest drop this week, falling five spots after losing against Roy. The Silver Wolves' three losses this season occurred against the No. 2, No. 9 and No. 13 programs in the state. East fell four spots after losing to Valor Christian (Colo.).

Class 5A:

1. Bingham (4-1) — It was JV time for the majority of the game against Copper Hills.

2. Brighton (5-0) — Bengals trailed early, but pulled away from Taylorsville.

Class 4A:

1. Timpview (4-1) — Had no problem with Provo — again.

5. Kearns (5-0) — The Cougars registered another big victory against Hillcrest.

Class 3AA:

1. Pine View (4-0) — Needed three overtimes to beat Snow Canyon after failing to score in regulation. Offensive is struggling right now.

3. Dixie (4-1) — Showdown at Desert Hills looming after victory against Cedar.

4. Logan (3-2) — Grizzlies had no problem with Ben Lomond.

5. Tooele (3-2) — Buffaloes fell to Maple Mountain, but will remain a contender within the 3AA classification.

Class 3A:

1. Juan Diego (4-1) — Took control of the northern division, but Union game could be another test on Friday.

2. Juab (4-1) — Big response for the Wasps, running past Richfield, after falling by one point in Week 4.

3. Canyon View (4-1) — Falcons have the most explosive offense in 3A by a long margin.

4. Morgan (3-2) — The Trojans hung close against Juan Diego, but were outscored 21-7 in the second half.

5. Union (3-2) — The Cougars have quietly won three consecutive games.

Class 2A:

1. South Summit (5-0) — The Wildcats were superior in every aspect against American Leadership.

2. Beaver (4-1) — Beavers beginning to resemble a legitimate contender in 2A.

3. San Juan (3-2) — Huge win against South Sevier was the third straight for the Broncos.

4. North Summit (3-2) — After consecutive losses, the Braves found the win column against Gunnison.

5. Grand (3-2) — Three wins in a row for the Devils, this time to the tune of 62-0 against North Sevier.

Class 1A:

1. Diamond Ranch (3-0) — Diamondbacks play at Rich after second bye week of the season.

2. Duchesne (3-2) — Eagles shutout Monticello, and looked impressive on offense, too.

3. Kanab (3-2) — Cowboys registered the biggest eye-opening win in 1A with a 49-0 runaway against defending champion Rich.

4. Milford (4-1) — Offense is putting up ridiculous numbers after posting the goose egg in the opening week.

5. Rich (1-3) — The Rebels can get back on track with an upset against Diamond Ranch.
