Two-time Class 4A girls soccer champion Timpanogos has been among the top teams in the state the past few years, but the Timberwolves have lacked a major component honoring their fine tradition.

Unlike many Utah schools, Timpanogos did not have a soccer scoreboard.

But that will change Tuesday when Timpanogos hosts Mountain View at the school's soccer field at 1400 N. 400 East in Orem.

Due to a collaborative effort including a lead gift from the Sorenson legacy Foundation, the school will dedicate its new scoreboard Tuesday.

Additional contributions for the project were received from current and past players, parents, businesses Orem City and the Alpine School District Foundation.

After a ribbon cutting ceremony, the game will be played. A brief reception for alumni and friends will follow.

Timpanogos is currently battling Mountain View for third place in league play. The Silverwolves are 3-4-1 in region play compared to Mountain View's 3-3-1 record.
