Sky View had no mercy for its crosstown rival Logan this past weekend. The Bobcats JV program beat the Grizzlies 91-0 on Thursday night. You read that score correctly. It was 51-0 at halftime before several defensive touchdowns inflated the score into the embarrassing finish. The suffering continued Friday night. Sky View, which jumped up to the 5A classification this year, pummeled Logan, which moved down to Class 3AA, 42-6 at the varsity level.

The final dagger was inserted when one Sky View supporter tweeted: "At least the varsity can score on Sky Views JV."

Brutal.

HISTORIC STARTS

One week after scoring 50 points for the first time in its 62-year history, Ben Lomond added another milestone to its 2015 campaign by starting 2-0 for the first time since 2001 with its win against Carbon. The Scots haven't started the season with three consecutive wins since 1967. Kearns also reached the 2-0 mark for the first time since 2008. The Cougars haven't started 3-0 in 22 years.

DRAMATIC FINISHES

Several games went to the wire Friday night:

— With eight seconds remaining in regulation, Maple Mountain quarterback Jaren Hall pirouetted in the backfield, and rolling out of the pocket, threw against his body to James Wilson for the winning touchdown against Corner Canyon.

— Spanish Fork's Mase Funa stunned Orem with a 90-yard interception return with 6:22 left in the fourth quarter, giving the Dons a three-point lead. But the Tigers weren't finished. With less than four minutes remaining, Hunter Van Buren hit Parker Wollaston from the 5-yard line to push Orem to 2-0 on the young season.

— North Sevier scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, including Ben Porras hitting the game-winning 24-yard field goal with less than a minute remaining to beat Gunnison.

Syracuse nearly squandered its 17-point lead against Box Elder, which stormed back with an opportunity to win in the final minute, but the Titans survived when an illegal forward pass prevented the Bees from first-and-goal.

Northridge-Bonneville was completely cuckoo. The Knights, led by Jrue Perkins once again, scored twice in the final quarter and held tight on a goal-line stand. It looked over until the Lakers connected on a 41-yard bomb with five seconds remaining, but an unsportsmanlike penalty pushed the PAT, which eventually sailed wide, back to the 35-yard line to preserve Northridge's wild 35-34 win.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

Provo's Viliami Iongi completed 18 of 20 passes for 249 yards and five touchdowns in a victory against Payson.

Pine View's Lance Mandrigues hauled in six receptions for 125 yards and one touchdown in a win against Uintah.

Dixie's Tre Miller rushed for 208 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries in a win over Mohave, Ariz.

Spencer Curtis caught nine balls for 138 yards and one touchdown in Jordan's win against Roy.

PROVED ME WRONG

This week I went 6-1 in pick 'em, while Tom Wharton checked in at 5-2. Then there was Brennan Smith. Oh, boy. Brennan finished 1-6. His twitter handle is @BrennanJSmith, if you want to hassle him (I encourage you to do so, he deserves it). But, as always, I enjoy crediting the teams that stump me. This week Lone Peak really impressed me. I picked Timpview in that game, and I could not have been more wrong.
