The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has honored two Utahns as coaches of the year for 2015.

Desert Hills' Dace Goulding was named the boys coach of the year for leading the Thunder to the Class 3A title last year. He also coached the girls team to the championship.

The group honored Panguitch's Troy Norris as the Utah girls track coach of the year after the Bobcats absolutely dominated the Class 1A field.

According to the organization, state-by-state winners were selected based on their teams' performances throughout the 2015 track and field season. Among the factors taken into consideration were team score and placement in the state championships, the number of different events in which student-athletes were qualified, individual championships and how their teams' performance stacked up to previous years.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association is a non-profit organization representing track and cross country coaches at all levels. It represents over 9,000 members.
