USA Football will host a Heads Up Football Player Safety Clinic Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Woods Cross High School.

The group will instruct player safety coaches representing high school programs and youth football leagues throughout the state. Those receiving instruction will then teach Heads Up Football concepts to their organizations' coaches, players and parents.

According to USA Football, Heads Up Football is a comprehensive approach to a better and safer game that teaches proper blocking and tackling techniques, the latest concussion recognition and response protocols, sudden cardiac arrest protocols, head and hydration rules, and instruction on proper helmet and shoulder pad fitting.

Football practice guidelines will be emphasized.

Registration is closed and the event is not open to those who are not registered.
