The Class 2A state baseball tournament got underway last Saturday with first and second round games played. The event will conclude Thursday, Friday and Saturday with games at Utah Valley University and Spanish Fork.

Region champions Delta and Gunnison advanced to the winner's bracket, while Region 15 winner Emery was upset in the second round, moving the Spartans into the losers bracket of the double elimination tournament.

In winner's bracket action, Delta defeated Summit Academy 8-1; Manti knocked off North Sevier 11-3, Enterprise dumped Emery 12-7 and Gunnison blasted South Sevier 10-3.

In first-game losers games, Grand stayed alive by beating American Leadership Academy 13-1; Parowan knocked off Kanab 9-8, Millard blanked South Summit 5-0, and Beaver eliminated San Juan 10-4.

Thursday's winner's bracket games are at Utah Valley University with Delta meeting Manti at 11 a.m. and Enterprise testing Gunnison at 1:30 p.m.

Loser bracket games Thursday are set at Spanish Fork with South Sevier and Grand meeting at 11 a.m.; Emery and Parowan battling at 11 a.m.; North Sevier testing Millard at 1:30 p.m., and Summit Academy and Beaver squaring off at 1:30 p.m.
