Class 3A boys soccer has turned into a Region Nine round robin with only Juan Diego crashing the party.

In Saturday games, defending champion Dixie blasted Ben Lomond 8-0 while Snow Canyon upset Region 12 winner Payson 1-0 and Pine View shocked Region 11 champ Stansbury.

Juan Diego used its fine defense to shut out Grantsville. The Soaring Eagle will meet top-ranked Dixie Friday at 4 p.m. in Alta in a rematch of last year's semifinal game, which the Flyers won. Pine View will test Snow Canyon at 6:15 p.m. at Alta in the other semifinal.

Snow Canyon and Pine View split their regular season series.

In Class 2A, the seedings held as league champions Manti, American Leadership Academy, Waterford and Delta all advanced to Friday's semifinals at Juan Diego.

Defending state champion waterford blanked Wasatch Academy 5-0 Saturday while top-ranked American Leadership Academy held off South Summit 3-1. Delta was a 3-1 winner over Gunnison while Manti nipped Layton Christian 2-1.

That set up a 4 p.m. semifinal game between Manti and American Leadership Academy and a 6:15 battle between Waterford and Delta.

State title games for 3A and 2A are scheduled Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium.
