Though cheer is not recognized as an official Utah High School Activities Association sport, the hundreds of cheerleaders throughout the state add much to the fun and color of prep sports.

But cheer is a club sport and last Saturday the 2015 Utah State Cheer Club champions were crowned in a competition at Salt Lake Community College.

This is the third year of Cheer as an organized club sport in Utah. The competition is organized with the help of current and former University of Utah, Weber State, SUU, SLCC and UVU Cheer Teams and the Jazz Fit Stunt Team. These cheer team members and coaches help spot and judge an addition to performing exhibition routines.
