On Mother's Day, The Salt Lake Tribune will publish the story of a 16-year-old boy who used to be a member of the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Latter-Day Saints, and the obstacles a Utah family overcame to adopt him.

His story is much the story of the FLDS and its children over the last 16 years. The newspaper has published a lot of photos depicting that life. Some of the photos were taken by Tribune photographers. Some were taken by an FLDS security force and later acquired by law enforcement.
