"Prophet's Prey," the documentary about the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and abuse and alleged abuse within it, is going to be shown in southwest Utah near the heart of the polygamous sect.

The film will be screened 8 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the O.C. Tanner Amphitheater in Springdale.

That's in the same county as Hildale, Utah, which, along with adjoining Colorado City, Ariz., collectively known as Short Creek, is the home of the FLDS.

The screening is doubling as a fundraiser for Holding Out Help, an organization that assists people wanting to leave polygamy. For $55, you can meet private detective Sam Brower, who wrote the book of the same name as the film and stars in the documentary, at 6:30 p.m. and have a dinner served at 7 p.m. Tickets for the meet-and-greet and dinner are limited to 200.

Admission to the film only costs $7.

KUER's Doug Fabrizio will moderate a discussion of the film before and after the screening.

"Prophet's Prey" debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
