Stanford claimed the Learfield Directors' Cup for a 22nd consecutive year, reflecting the Cardinals' broad-based athletic success.  With points awarded for national performance in each sport, Stanford led seven Pac-12 schools in the top 25, including No. 4 USC, No. 6 UCLA, No. 10 Oregon, No. 11 California, No. 14 Washington and No. 25 Arizona, which closed the academic year for the conference with a runner-up finish in baseball last week.  The rest of the Pac-12 included No. 37 Arizona State, No. 46 Colorado, No. 51 Utah, No. 84 Oregon State and No. 102 Washington State.  The Atlantic Coast Conference listed six of its 15 schools (counting Notre Dame) among the top 25. The ACC also came closest to the Pac-12 in national championships, with five titles to the Pac-12's 10 championships in 2015-16.  The Pac-12 winners included in Oregon in men's golf, men's indoor track and field and women's indoor track and field; Stanford in men's soccer and women's tennis; USC in beach volleyball and women's water polo; Cal in women's rowing; UCLA in men's water polo; and Washington in women's golf.  – Kurt Kragthorpe
