The Pac-12 launches its Halloween week schedule with a game featuring the league's two most mysterious teams.  Thursday's game Oregon at Arizona State, 8:30 p.m. MDT, ESPN  Everything the Oregon-Arizona State matchup has lost in the sense of glamour has been replaced by unpredictability. I'm not sure how anyone could make an overwhelming case for either team in this game.  These 4-3 teams have not lived up to preseason expectations, particularly Oregon, but their seasons have not been complete disasters either. And they both can hope the teams in front of them in their respective divisions will suffer a couple of losses, keeping them in the race. Then again, one of these teams will stand 4-4 overall and 2-3 in Pac-12 play after losing Thursday.  Oregon is coming off a 26-20 win at Washington on Oct. 17, while ASU fell apart in the fourth quarter of a 34-18 loss at Utah.  I was similarly torn about Cal-UCLA last Thursday, and UCLA's dominance made my pick of Cal seem silly, in hindsight. In any case, I'll stick with my logic of picking Oregon over Washington, not believing the Ducks could fall this far in one year. Oregon 34, Arizona State 28.  Kurt Kragthorpe
