Five takeaways from President-elect Trump's first five days. Trump won the Mormon vote, but lagged in Utah. Protesters keep civil in Utah gatherings.

Happy Monday. President-elect Donald Trump is learning what he's going to face the next four years — and so are Americans. Trump is compulsively improvisational, and ran the most successful back-of-the-napkin operation in American political history, but the challenge confronting him is, by his own admission, nothing like anything anybody has ever seen. Here are five takeaways we've learned in his first five days as incoming president. [Politico]

Topping the news: Exit poll data show Donald Trump receiving weaker support from Mormon voters than Republican candidates in the last few elections and LDS voters in Utah — with the prospect of Evan McMullin taking the state — running away from the GOP nominee in even greater numbers. [<a href="http://www.sltrib.com/news/4573783-155/while-mormons-nationally-stuck-with-trump?page=1"; target="_blank">Trib] [<a href="http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865667045/Presidential-election-exit-polls-show-Utahns-highly-conflicted.html"; target="_blank">DNews]

-> Trump voters, Clinton voters, and people who voted for other candidates give suggestions to President-elect Trump that follow the same thread: apologize, soften the rhetoric and care for all Americans. [<a href="http://www.sltrib.com/news/4573605-155/utahns-want-donald-trump-to-soften?page=1"; target="_blank">Trib]

-> Protestors against Trump on Saturday largely kept things clean and peaceful, with organizers pleading attendees to put their money where their mouth is and set a nationwide example when it comes to "love trumps hate."
