Sen. Lee bets turkeys that BYU will stomp Nebraska. Becker says he could have handled the Burbank resignation better. Love faces heat over correspondents' dinner flight.

Happy Friday. Sens. Mike Lee and Ben Sasse made a friendly wager over Saturday's football game between BYU and Nebraska. The Utah senator and his Nebraska counterpart bet on their respective teams, offering to help out a food bank in the other's state if the game doesn't go as he expects. "When the Huskers win Saturday in Memorial Stadium, Senator Lee will send ten of Utah's Norbest Turkeys to the Open Door Mission in Omaha," Sasse's office said in a news release. "If, by some miracle, BYU wins, Senator Sasse will send ten pork loins from Pillen Family Farms based in Columbus to the Utah Food Bank in Salt Lake City."

Topping the news: Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker says after some reflection, he could have better handled the resignation of former Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank earlier this summer.
