The Utah Jazz begin life without Gordon Hayward tonight, as they face off with the Los Angeles Clippers in Quin Snyder and company's first game since their star player busted a finger on his left hand.
But Hayward won't be the only man missing the action at Staples Center.
Alec Burks is continuing to rehab from offseason knee surgery and as of last week had not been participating in contact drills. The shooting guard will be with the team in L.A. but won't suit up.
Forward Derrick Favors, meanwhile, did not make the trip to California. After playing in the preseason opener last week against Portland, Favors was held out of action against the Suns and again as the Jazz resumed practices because of left knee soreness. The Jazz's latest injury report identifies the problem as Iliotibial Band Syndrome, an injury common among runners.
The Jazz canceled their shootaround Monday morning, so we'll have to wait until this evening for further updates.
