The Jazz have let forward Christapher Johnson's 10-day contract expire, opening up a roster spot. Johnson, a 6-foot-6 swingman who has had NBA stints with Boston, Memphis and Philadelphia, had decent showings during his two appearances with Utah. On Friday night in Phoenix, he scored nine points on 3-of-5 shooting from three-point territory, while recording two rebounds, two steals and three assists. Johnson played nearly 21 minutes against the Suns while guard/forward Elijah Millsap played just six. With the trade deadline less than two weeks away, the decision to let Johnson's contact expire could be about maintaining flexibility for a potential move. The Jazz have also been very active with D-League call-ups this season, using that final roster spot to sign Patrick Christoper, Millsap, Elliot Williams and Johnson. — Aaron Falk
