Indianapolis — The Pacers' misfortunes of late have been such that there might be an inclination to check for new injuries even on off days.

A run of bad luck that began in July with All-Star forward Paul George breaking his leg in a Team USA scrimmage has carried over into the season, turning a rising Eastern Conference contender into a rag-tag squad left scrapping for wins.

George is out rehabilitating that fractured right leg.

Point guard George Hill is out with a bruised left knee.

David West? Rodney Stucky? C.J. Watson?

Out, out and, yep, out.

Former Jazz man C.J. Miles is listed as questionable tonight because of a migraine.

"Indiana is without a lot of guys right now," Jazz swingman Gordon Hayward said after he scored his team's last 11 points in a come-from-behind win over Detroit on Sunday. "It's still going to be a tough game. [But] it's a hell of an opportunity for us to go in and try to use that to our advantage—not get down early and make sure we play our basketball. If we do that, I think we should be all right."

The Pacers (1-6) did have some good news at this morning's shootaround, where George, still likely to miss the season, fired up 3-pointers; center Roy Hibbert, who left Friday night's game with a bruised knee, said he's good to go against the Jazz.

With Utah playing on the road for a second straight night, oddsmakers listed the Pacers, losers of six straight, as 2-point favorites to start the day. But the Jazz believe they have some positive momentum after last night's win, and will be trying to hit the .500 mark after eight games.

"It's good to get the first win on a road trip," forward Trevor Booker said. "It gives us confidence going into the rest of the trip. We've got another game [Monday]. Hopefully it carries over."
