Rookie forward Rodney Hood left Friday's game against the Mavericks after the first quarter after being diagnosed with right plantar fasciitis.

Hood played six minutes, recording three rebounds and a steal. He missed his only shot attempt.

After the game, Jazz coach Quin Snyder did not have an update on the injury. Hood will be reevaluated Saturday.

"Hopefully he'll be back soon," Snyder said. "We miss him. He's one of the guys that's making shots. He's got length and competes. Clearly, when he went out, he's had an impact in a lot of way son our team."

Hood was averaging 4.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and an assist a game through the team's first five contests.
