Utah Hike of the Week: Canyon Hollow Trail and Ghost Falls in Corner Canyon

First Published      Last Updated Jun 14 2017 11:13 am

The hike: The Canyon Hollow Trail moves through the heart of the Corner Canyon trail system. It offers lots of shade, views of the Wasatch Mountains and, with a short side trip, a waterfall. Be prepared to share the trail with mountain bikers.

If you want to get the incline out of the way early, start from the low side at the Coyote Hollow Trailhead and follow the signs for the Canyon Hollow Trail. The trail winds through the trees east and north. At about the halfway point, the trail bends toward the southeast. About two-thirds through the hike, you will see signs directing you to Ghost Falls. It's a short side trip worth taking to see the modest waterfall. After the falls, you can follow the signs continuing the Canyon Hollow Trail. The trail ends at the road leading to the Ghost Falls Trailhead. If you wish to hike all the way to the Ghost Falls Trailhead, follow the road east and north for six-tenths of a mile.

Getting there: The low end of the trail can be accessed at the Coyote Hollow Trailhead next to 14158 Coyote Hollow Court in Draper. The high end of the trail can be accessed by the Ghost Falls Trailhead in Sandy.
