There's 262 trails in our Hike of the Week database.

That's great. The problem is: it's getting harder for us to find trails we haven't already told you about.

We, here at Hike of the Week, try searching online for new trails, but that doesn't always work so well.

The National Park Service websites generally have great information about trails in the parks, but the Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service websites tend to have information about their trails that's curt and not very descriptive.

The state of Utah has information about trails at some state parks, but not all. City and county government websites are, as you would expect, varying.

So we turn to the private sector. There are a few good websites created by local hiking or biking enthusiasts. One detailed website is SantaClaratrails.com, which provides photos, maps and directions for trail around Santa Clara.

What websites do you use to find hikes in Utah? Tell us in the comments section, tweet us at @Utahhikes or send an email to newsroom@sltrib.com with the subject line "Attn: Utah hiking website." In any of those platforms, please include a link to the website, an explanation of what you like about the site and tell us a trail you hiked after using the site.

We will list the best sites in a future post.
