Directions • There is a trail head at the visitors center and another at the campground.
With so many well-preserved Anasazi ruins in such a short distance, you can almost imagine what the community looked like 750 years ago. And you get to see the mesas and plant life of southeast Utah. The trail is well marked and easy to hike. Take it in either direction and you'll pass eight ruins. More are visible on the canyon floor. You will traverse the shallow canyon on the trail's east end. The hike's highlight is Hovenweep Castle, on the trail's west end, a collection of walls from what was once a much larger structure.
