As Utah skiers celebrate a big snow dump and try to dig out to get up to a resort to take advantage of it, the state's 14 resorts are getting ready for Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month in January.

According to Ski Utah director of communications Paul Marshall. this is a national initiative that began in 2008 and strives to make learning skiing and snowboarding easy, accessible and affordable for children and adults.

Each Utah resort will be offering a deal. Most mountains are offering a two-hour lessons, rentals and lift ticket for $49. For a complete list of deals and discounts, log on to http://www.skiutah.com/lssm.

"In continuing this successful initiative, we hope it will encourage more Utahans to enjoy the state's most famous resource, The Greatest Snow on Earth®," noted Raelene Davis, Ski Utah's Marketing Director. "Also, learning to love winter recreation is a great way to stay healthy during these cold months."
