The Division of Wildlife Resources and the Utah Blue Ribbon Fisheries Advisory Council are sponsoring a free ice fishing clinic Monday at the Salt Lake City office of the Department of Natural Resources office at 1594 W. North Temple.

Avid ice anglers James Bradshaw of Maniac Lures and Kent Sorenson, a DWR regional fisheries biologist, will teach the seminar.

Topics include staying comfortable and warm on the ice, the type of fishing gear needed and how to get on the ice and drill a hole.

A raffle prize will also be given away.

"If you're a beginning angler," said Marni Lee, the DWR's wildlife recreation coordinator, "the seminar will give you the confidence you need to gather your gear and hit the ice. If you already have some ice fishing experience, you should still pick up some tips that will help you improve your skills."
