As the Memorial Day weekend approaches, Park City's ski areas are gearing up for the summer season.

Summer operations begin May 27 at Park City Mountain Resort's base area.

The ski area is offering three new activities for children including a zipline for small children, a kids' challenge course and a kids' summer tubing hill.

Part City Base Area offers one of the world's longest alpine slides, the ZipRider, Flying Eagle Zip Lines, a 4,000-foot long alpine coaster, and miles of hiking and mountain biking terrain serviced by three lifts.

The PayDay Lift opens on May 17 followed by the Crescent and Town Lifts on June 17.

Canyons Golf opens for its second season. The Canyons Village opens operations on June 17.The resorts are offering summer concerts, mountain dining, and summer lodging deals.

Deer Valley opens its summer activities on June 17. Activities include improved lift-served mountain biking, the Deer Valley Music festival, the Park City Institute's St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Night Outdoor Concert Series, and the Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series. cConcerts announced thus far include the Steve Miller Band, Jewel;, Chris Botti with Lucia Micarelli, Broadway's Doug Labredque, Mathew Morrison, Trace Adkins and the B-52s.

Deer Valley is offering its Summer Adventure camp for children 12 years and under that includes outdoor activities, craft projects, games, puzzles and videos. For information, log on to http://www.deervalley.com.
