Ice fishing enthusiasts looking to win cash prizes or merchandise might want to begin making plans for the Wasatch Back Quad-fishalon.

This year's tournament utilizes four Utah State Parks. It begins January 23 at East Canyon with events January 30 at Deer Creek, February 6 at Jordanelle and February 13 at Rockport.

Competitors enter their largest measured trout caught at each event. The person with the largest combined measurement of trout wins.

There are over $5,000 in prizes this year, including Cabela's gift cards, swag bags, an Ultimate Ice Fishing Package, and Cabela's fishing clinics.

If four parks seem to be too much of a commitment, participants can compete in each park's individual events for prizes of $1,000 or more.

To register for the event, visit the Quad-fishalon website at https://runsignup.com/Race/UT/HeberCity/WasatchBackQuadfishalon. Register by January 17 for $55 plus a $3.30 fee) or register the day of the first event at the East Canyon office for $70.

Registrants should note that dogs, ATVs and snowmobiles are not allowed at Deer Creek.
