Frontier Homestead State Park will celebrate the founding of Cedar City with its annual Iron Mission Day event Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Activities include pioneer crafts, crafts for kids and living history demonstrations.

The staff will be showcasing tomahawk throwing, candle dipping and break baking in a wood-fired bread oven. Freshly pressed apple cider will be available.

In addition, visitors can practice wood working skills in the Nelson Carpentry Shop or making rag dolls. The Sagebrush Fiber Artisans will be practicing their craft.

The replica Fremont Indian pithouse is now open for exploration.

The park's new horseshoe pits are also in operation.

Cost is $5 per family.
